LBC offers a typical natural sciences curriculum with the addition of Science and Technology Studies courses, which examine the impact of science and technology on society
We refer to the social sciences and humanities curriculum as "history, philosophy, and sociology" or "HPS." Students have the opportunity to take HPS classes in four overlapping substantive areas: science, technology, the environment, and medicine

From the Advisors
The academic year consists of two semesters of approximately fifteen weeks each. The fall semester begins in late August and ends by mid-December. The spring semester begins in January and ends with commencement in early May
Intellectual integrity is the foundation of the scientific community. Good citizens in the scientific community respect and protect the integrity of the intellectual enterprise.
Academic advisement is a very significant part of the Briggs program. Lyman Briggs employs professional academic advisers, in addition to several faculty members, to assist them and give direction in a general program.
MSU makes it easy to find a job, either on or off campus. Having a bit of spare cash is always nice, too

One of the functions each department office must perform prior to Commencement is certification that its students recommended for graduation have in fact met requirements for the degree to be granted.

Student Research
Research is an integral part of MSU. Many LBC faculty accept undergraduate students to help in research labs.
Lyman Briggs College helps students by providing funding to support undergraduate research activities. Awards provide different levels of funding for students to work on research teams with MSU faculty mentors
The University Undergraduate Research and Arts Forum (UURAF) is an opportunity for students to showcase their scholarship and creative activity to the University community.
Venture is a database of undergraduate research, scholarship and creative opportunities available to MSU undergraduate students.

LBC Student Advisory Council acts in an advisory capacity to the LBC faculty and administration regarding issues of curriculum, administration, and student-faculty relations
This organization seeks to unite LGBT residents and allies in MSU's East Complex (Akers, Holmes, Hubbard, McDonel Halls and Owen Hall) to help meet the social, educational, and cultural needs of this target group.
