Applying to Faculty Positions
Lyman Briggs College strives to hire energetic faculty who are passionate about our mission to educate and facilitate the future success of our students and represent the philosophy and goals of the college and university. This extends beyond the classroom to encompass collaborative and collegial efforts.

Where do I submit my application materials?
All application materials must be uploaded to Michigan State University's online job application site.

What documents need to be included in my application materials?
Applications for faculty positions consist of the following:
  • Cover letter outlining the candidate's scholarly expertise as well as their ability to teach within the specializations listed in the position description and the pedagogical approaches the candidate applies in the classroom. (Cover letters should be addressed to the search chair listed on the posting or to the search committee.)
  • Curriculum vitae (CV)
  • Teaching portfolio
  • Names of three professional references with contact information. Your references will be contacted via email for letters of recommendation after you complete the application process which includes submitting all of your application materials through the online application system. What happens after I submit my application materials?
Typically within 5 business days of uploading your complete application materials into MSU's online job application site (MAP), you will receive a confirmation email from the Lyman Briggs College Human Resources Office (
