Ed Tillett is a Career Consultant serving the College of Nursing and the Lyman Briggs College.  An alumnus of Michigan State University (MSU), Ed received his Bachelor of Science in Physiology through Lyman Briggs, and his Master of Arts in Health Communications with a specialization in International Development.

He has previously worked in Residential Education and Hospitality Services at MSU as a Resident Director and as an Area Manager at the University of Texas at Austin where he managed a student residential community of 5 buildings.

Just a few highlights of his committee experience includes the development of campus communication branding around major athletic events such as the Final Four, the creation and development of a new department at MSU, serving on a division wide leadership team, working with the Disney Institute to strategically plan the future of the Division of Student Affairs at MSU known as the Inspire Initiative, and serving on a hearing board to ensure proper Title IX compliance at the university. 

Having presented at two different student affairs national conferences Ed is constantly interested in professional growth and development.  Other professional highlights include teaching a leadership class, being a trained Restorative Justice facilitator, a blogger, a former freelance writer, and a philanthropic event planner.

In his current role, he provides support to students in both colleges engaging them in developmental conversations about career decisions including exploring, planning and preparation.  With that also comes the responsibilities of developing strong employer relationships, establishing and cultivating partnerships to collaborate with campus stakeholders, presenting on a variety of topics to students, parents and staff as well as event planning and management.

Ed Tillett spends his spare time volunteering in the community, mentoring, going to live concerts, traveling, playing sports recreationally and spending time with his family.
